Tom Petty said it best, "There's been a change, yeah,
there's been a change of heart."
Could there be an insurance policy that covers a change of heart? For that matter, does any non-medical
insurance policy even contain the words "change of heart" in the contract?
Allow me to introduce Wedding Insurance. Check out some not so out-of-the-ordinary
wedding snafus that are typically covered by wedding insurance:
- Your photographer fails to load the camera with film or fails to remove
the lens cap from the camera and you have no wedding photos! This coverage
will pay the reasonable expenses to retake the photos. Sweet!
- Your venue declares bankruptcy two weeks before your wedding! This
coverage will pay the additional cost to secure another venue so that the
wedding will go on as planned.
Wonderful!
- You have lost your deposit to the now defunct venue! This coverage will reimburse you for your deposit. Awesome!
No wedding seems to go off without a hitch. Check out this recent mishap where the entire wedding party fell into the lake as they were being photographed when a dock collapsed! Read this story about Hurricane Irene's attempt to flood a couple's dream wedding.
With the average cost of weddings at $26,500, it might be wise to check into wedding insurance for your upcoming nuptials.
By the way, should your groom or bride leave you standing at the altar, remember "any decision resulting from a change of heart" is NOT covered.
